this was mandy's birthday party and instead of going out for supper with close friends then coming back to my house for cake with lots of friends (which seems to be the birthday norm) we decided to cook supper and eat before the party came over. mandy's favourite food is crab so we decided to be adventurous and cook some!
before

after

i mean look at him. he was trying so hard to crawl out of my kitchen sink. how could i possibly rip off his limbs, pull out his insides, lather him in butter and eat him? does anyone know the number for PETA?

luckily there was cake to take my mind off the murderous supper.
kristy made it and it was honestly so good! she called it temple cake. i guess they make it at the temple cafeteria. it had coconut and pineapple and slivered almonds. it really was de. and i have no idea how to make this not blue and underlined. yup. i still hate blogger and crave a more user friendly way to blog.

my worst part by far, in fact i refused to help - i mean i busied myself with other work - was cracking it open and pulling the meat out. for some reason i really hated it. poor poor sebastian.

after cake we had a little synchronized dance party. my house isn't ideal for playing but it was still fun!

then after everybody left we busted out the pseudo bubbly and made a toast. and drank the entire bottle. between the three of us. don't judge.

despite my house having a slight seafood smell, the party was a success!
for some reason i absolutely love hosting birthday parties.
